Daycare Birthday Circuit...Part 1

First up Cooper....Can you tell that this little guy
has some modeling experience?


His birthday was super exciting because he has
a train! We all took turns going for train rides.

Here's Gracie on the train. Not sure what she's
looking at here, but boy did she love the train!



But Nora Jane was too little so she took a spin
in Turner's(Cooper's little brother) car instead.


Gracie's best friend Joshua was there. She
declared, "Joshua is my best friend, but I am
not Joshua's best friend. Cooper is." Seems
Gracie was trumped by the birthday boy. Isn't
that to be expected?

Here's Josh helping *Cooper* blow out his

Happy Birthday Cooper! We love you even though
you stole our baby girl's best friend for a few hours.

Next up, Lucas. Lucas was Gracie's original
best friend. Not sure what happened, but Josh
moved in and stole Gracie's heart.


Lucas' birthday party was super exciting because
he had a jumpy house.

Nana's Birthday

OK, I admit it! I am WAY behind.

The end of August we got to celebrate a very
special occasion...Nana's Birthday.

Uncle Pete & Uncle Joe were there....



Auntie Ame was there

and of course the birthday girl herself....

kiddy hawk is potty trained!! we have hello kitty to thank for this amazing feat! daddy hawk was skeptical when lady hawk came home with gifts to bribe dear gracie to go in the potty. tsk tsk! mommy always knows best, plus mommy loves hello kitty as well.... i can't wait to buy more outfits to play dressup, um, i mean for gracie to play dressup!

Good Times at Fairyland...

Gracie, Nora Jane, Merryn, Robert and I went to Fairlyand on Memorial Day. For those of you not familiar, Fairyland is the slightly ghetto version of Disneyland and best for wee ones under 4.

I'll huff and I'll puff......


And I'll blow your house down. Gracie and Robert loved the peek-a-boo house.


Gracie loved putting the "magic" key in to learn new things.

Gracie and her cousin Maeve have a real love/hate relationship. After a great dinner followed by too much Happy Cola Gummies at Auntie Nora & Uncle Dan's, the girls went from best friends to hair pulling frenemies.

Yes, Easter was a while back, but I thought I should share some photos/video with you.

The Easter pandemonium started early with Gracie awaking and discovering a trail of candy just outside her room. The Easter Bunny was here & boy was he messy! Almost as messy as Mommy hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

It was very easy for Nora Jane to find her basket with all the excitement. How did the Easter Bunny know that Gracie liked princesses, tea sets, & most of all Ariel? The EB also knew that Nora Jane was just due to start using sippy cups & even got age appropriate cups for her. That EB is so darn practical!

Gracie admires the Princess sippy cups & tea set that the EB brought her.

It was awesome to "host" Easter and not have to lift a finger! The Hawkins clan are quick & organized plus know how to put holiday dinners together in a snap! Nana brought her fabulous ham & dressing, or do you call that stuffing? I'm sure Nana will correct me, but whatever it was, I loved it!

This picture cracked me up. I've seen countless Hawkins photos with everyone with a camera in hand. Maybe Hawkins just have the eye?! BTW, Gracie loved blowing bubbles with her Auntie "Manda". We have had to go to the store several times for BUBBLES since!

Daddy Hawk perched outside with baby hawk and kiddy hawk. Yes, Gracie still will not sit still for a picture. You'll have to come admire her in person if you want to see her!

Hawks with Lynches & Strollers

Trouble.....need I say more?!

Anne and I took quite the leisurely stroll to the cafe, taqueria & drug store. It was quite a display of bumper car strollers.

Why to the cafe: What else does a parent of 2 or 3 young children need? Caffeine!

Why to the taqueria: What else does a parent of 2 or 3 need aside from someone else making lunch?

2 Lynches & a Hawk at the taqueria.

Why to Rite Aid: To pick up 1 container of baby food for NJ. That was the plan.

Note to any parents with toddlers: do not bring 3 girls in a HUGE need of a nap into Rite Aid. You will end up with a 10 years supply of Disney themed chapstick and play phones that are "broken".

2 hours & .10 miles later, through unexpected showers, we arrived home.

Gracie is sporting a great mullet right now. I guess she was admiring some photos of Uncle Scott from a couple years ago and thought, why not? And no, that is not a typo, it was a couple of years ago that Scott sported a mullet.

Happy Feet = Happy Hawks

Thought it would be nice to post some pictures of Nora Janes beautiful feet. I thank God all the time for the wonderful doctor taking care of NJ's feet, Dr. Colburn. He dedicates a lot of his time "fixing" club foot children's feet. I was never very fond of feet(ask Daddy Hawk), but now I focus lots of time admiring NJ's amazing & straight feet.


Notice that NJ actually curls her right foot in this photo which was never a club foot, just slightly curled.



Happy Feet are not only straight, but edible too.



Off to the screaming NJ who has decide it is not bed time yet.
